Our next meeting will be Tuesday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the Brick Township Municipal building on Chambersbridge Rd in Brick, NJ. We will be discussing a variety of fisheries issues and need everyone’s input. Be sure to have your club delegate attend.

For the past few issues we have focused pretty heavily on the elver fishery problem. Reopening of this fishery is being pushed by a well-organized group of commercial elver fishermen and by Assemblyman Gibson and Senator Cafiero. Both are Republicans from district 1. The bill has already been passed in the Assembly with 48 yes and 26 no votes. It will be coming up for a vote in the Senate before the end of March. We need to do better! We need your help! You must contact your State Senator immediately and tell them to vote NO on S457.

Sportsman of the Year, last chance to make a nomination. Nominations will be open until the vote is taken at the March meeting. This award will be presented at the April 28 meeting.

Remember that our High Roller Raffle will also be drawn during the April meeting, so get those tickets in on time. See Al Marantz for more tickets.
