On Sunday, November 10th, 2002,
JCAA will be holding its annual Sportsperson-of-the Year dinner/dance at the
beautiful Crystal Point Yacht Club, Rt. 70 & River Rd., Pt. Pleasant, N.J.
from 4:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. to honor this year’s and past years’ recipients of
this award. Past honorees include legislators, environmental leaders, outdoor
writers and other worthy recipients.
This event will accommodate 300 supporters and
friends for a semi-formal sit-down dinner with choice of entrees and cash
bar. Governor McGreevey has been invited to be our keynote speaker and there
will be door prizes and a Chinese auction and silent auction.
Tickets are $60.00 per person and a table of
ten is $500.00. I would urge every club to purchase a table for ten and show
your support for the JCAA. Remember, JCAA is your club.
and its volunteers put in a lot of
time and effort all year long, year after year, to fight for the recreational
angler. I can’t quantify how many man-hours are spent every week, every month
and every year battling for the rights of the recreational angler. We really
need your support, and one way you can support the JCAA is by attending our
annual Sportsperson-of-the-Year dinner/dance.
Last year, clubs that couldn’t afford the cost
of an entire table paid half towards this event and sent five of their members
to the event and the five members only had to pay $50.00 each for their
spouses to attend. This was a terrific idea and I would urge other clubs to
consider doing it this year.
Any individual or club wishing to purchase
tickets can call me at (609) 597-3193. Also, I am in need of donations for the
Chinese auction and silent auction. Again, anyone wishing to donate a prize
can call me at the above phone number.
